Creating A Digital Cookbook

Digital cookbooks can be generated to display information on your recipes for use by kitchen staff. You can include information such as the ingredient list, preparation and cooking notes for your recipes using this feature. 

In this guide we will cover how to:

  • Navigate to the Digital Cookbook Settings
  • Set up and change settings for digital cookbooks
  • Generate digital cookbooks 

Navigating to the Digital Cookbook Settings 

  1. Click on the Settings/Admin icon and select the ‘Settings’ section.

  1. Click on ‘Recipe Display Settings’

Please note: These settings can be accessed if, on an organisation level access to the ‘Menu Items – Recipe Cards’ feature has been enabled.

Editing the Digital Cookbook Settings

To edit the settings you need to select ‘Edit Settings’:

There are a number of Menu Cookbook styles that can be made available. You can add/delete styles by clicking on the grey space beside ‘Menu Cookbook Style’

Select whether to show a cover page for the cookbooks and specify how to show Sub-Recipes and their position:

For Recipe Cards, change settings related to the display of ingredient and recipe names:

Under the Displayed Recipe Values settings, users can select from a wide range of information/items that they can show or hide on digital and printed cookbooks: 

Top tip – When happy with the settings selected make sure to click on the green ‘Save Settings’ button. 

Generating a Digital Cookbook 

Cookbooks can be generated for menus created in Ten Kites and imported menus.

To generate a cookbook for a menu, open the menu and select ‘Generate Cook Book’, if multiple cookbook formats are available they will appear as options in the dropdown menu. 

Once your cookbook has been generated a ‘Download’ button will appear:

Click on Download and your Digital Cookbook will be downloaded in PDF format.
