Creating a Build Your Own Menu

Create ‘Build Your Own’ BYO menus to allow users to view and customise dishes on a menu.

Depending on your outlet set up, you can create an Interactive or Static ‘Build Your Own’ (BYO) menu:

• Interactive BYO: Create BYO menus to allow users to interact with menu items to customise a dish. For example, you may use a BYO item for a pizza, allowing customers to choose a base, toppings and sauce. 
• Static BYO: Shows all options for the BYO on the menu at once. This version is not interactive and customers cannot choose to customise the dish and see different options e.g. nutritional changes, price or allergens.  

CREATING A BYO MENU:

1. Go to URL https://manage.tenkites.com

2. Enter your Email address and Password > Log In

3. From the home page navigation bar on the left side of your screen, select the menu icon > Menus:

4. Choose an existing menu to add a BYO item to or create a new menu
5. Click the green plus icon (1) and select the dropdown (2) to choose ‘Build Your Own’ (3):

6. Add a name for the item e.g. Build Your Own Pizza (4)
7. Next, add a new menu row to this section using the green plus icon
8. Set the menu row to a ‘Sub Build Your Own’ and give it a name e.g. Base:

9. Add a new menu row to this new sub BYO section:

10. Continue this for all options within the BYO item using the green plus icon to the right of the main BYO name to add new sub BYO sections e.g. sauces, toppings etc:

Within each Sub BYO section you can configure additional settings by clicking the cog icon. Make a sub section optional by setting the BYO Type:

• Modifier Choices: It is optional to include this item in the main dish e.g. toppings on a pizza are optional, these are not mandatory for the dish like the base. 
• Inclusive Options: One option from this section must always be included. This is useful for allergen filtering on the menu e.g. if all bases contained gluten and a guest filtered to exclude this allergen, the entire BYO Pizza item would not show. 
• Add-on Options: Include a supplementary/additional price for certain items.
• Dietary Options: Include additional options for dietary changes 

You can also add individual descriptions, sale prices, headings etc as normal. 

Once your menu is saved, you can see the BYO item on your menu as configured.
