Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS)

Last updated: 27th August 2024

Calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS) by clicking the costing panel within a recipe portion:

You can also analyse COGS by switching to the COGS tab in the tracking panel.

Here you will see a series of columns tracking costs per portion on the menus, including:

  • Ingredient Cost
  • Total Item Cost
  • Sale Price
  • Sale Price excluding Tax
  • Sales Tax Amount
  • Item Gross Profit
  • COGS%
  • Units Sold
  • Total COGs
  • Total Revenue
  • Gross Profit
  • Gross Profit %
  • Packaging Cost
  • Shipping Cost
  • Employee Cost
  • Waste Cost
  • Other Costs

Please note this is a Premium feature. If you would like to add this to your plan please get in touch with sales@nutritics.com.

The columns above for COGS will sync directly from your menu and portions included. If you use the Forecasting and Waste tabs the information for units sold will sync across automatically to optimise data. Alternatively, you can manually input ‘Units Sold’ to change calculations.

You can further customise how you would like the COGS to be calculated via Settings>Preferences>Cost Components:

Tick to enable a component to be included in calculations, for example, you may wish to exclude shipping costs when calculating the COGS.
