What is the Australian Food Composition Database?
The Australian Food Composition Database is a reference database that provides detailed data on the nutritional composition of various Australian food items. This database primarily consists of meticulously analysed data, which is why it is referred to as a reference database.
While a small portion of the information originates from sources like recipe calculations, food labels, imputing from comparable foods, or borrowing from other countries, the majority of the data has been subjected to rigorous analysis.
A new database called AU22 – 2022 Australian Food Composition Database (Release 2) is now available at Nutritics.
The latest iteration of the Australian Food Composition Database, known as Release 2, encompasses nutrient information for 1,616 food items that are commonly found in Australia. Each of these foods has been comprehensively assessed for up to 256 different nutrients. It is worth noting that this database represents the most up-to-date reference resource available, as the data preparation for Release 2 was completed in 2021.
This database is available to all Nutritics customers under the data source AU22.
